Perambalam Arumugam (aka Perul), the founder of Avimed, has been in the music industry for almost 60 years and one of the best flutist in Malaysia. He began his flute journey at a young age, and by his teens, he was accompanying many top artistes and singers in the country, namely Dato’Sharifah Aini, Nasir P. Ramlee, M. Sharif and DJ Dave. Perambelam then worked for an international bank while establishing his music career. He had performed for many local TV and radio shows.

He has participated in the Konsert Diraja Sempena Perayaan 100 Tahun Kuala Lumpur, one of the prestigious event attended by Duli Yang Maha Mulia (DYMM)  Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Azlan Shah and former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohammad. This function was organized by the Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur ( DBKL ) in year 1990. He had also participated in Konsert Simfoni Rakyat Malaysia, a 100 piece group organized by the Istana Budaya Kuala Lumpur in the year 2004, where he was one of the music composers.

Apart from Malaysia, Perambalam has also performed in countries like Singapore, Brunei, India, Indonesia, Australia and France.
