“Amma..Amma, Neethaney Enthan Uyirey” that was the very first line sang by Lishani. An accounting degree holder (B.Acc)from Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL), who started singing at the tender age of 4 in the radio channel (RTM Radio 6) and she won the 1st runner-up for the Fernleaf title song competition. Lishani started her Carnatic Vocal training under the tutelage of the late Srimathi Padma Subramaniam at the age of 5. Thereafter, she continued her vocal training under Mrs Bhavani Logeswaran.
At the age of 12, she took her violin and vocal lessons under the guidance of the late Srimathi Vijayalakshmi Kulaveerasingam and currently she is being trained by Mrs Gayathri Vadivale.
Besides Indian classical style of Violin playing, Lishani also has learnt the western classical style and she has been trained by Mr Steven. Lishani’s craving towards the music has made her to further explore on music therapy. She pursued her Indian Music Therapy (IMT) Certification course with Mrs. Ruma Chakravathy (India), the trainer who is a certified Indian Music Therapist and the Leadership Executive Coach. As she aims to apply for the traditional Indian Musical Knowledge as therapeutic measure, Lishani is currently practicing and conducting therapy session solely for the people who are seeking music therapy sessions.
In year 2004, Lishani had been selected to represent a school to participate in the National Day event. She has sung the ‘Malaysia Truly Asia’ song in English version and has won the third prize. She has also performed for both vocal and violin during her schooling and university time as a guest performer. Besides that, she also participated in few Thevaram competition under Thiruvarul Thavaneri Mandram. Lishani has also sung for few jingles /advertistment locally.
She is also contributing, both vocal and violin for the background score for few upcoming short films in Malaysia. She has been performing for Malaysia Salangai Poojais and Arangetrams events besides involving herself in commercial field. Lishani has sung for an album called ‘Thevara Paamalai’, which compiles few thevaram songs in fusion. Lishani has been performing for both commercial and government events. One of the foremost event that she has performed was Pesta Gamelan, organized by Kementerian dan Kebudayaan Malaysia, which took place in year 2016 at Negeri Sembilan and Terangganu. In 2018, Lishani had performed vocal recital at the Sri Nataraja Temple Chidambaram, India organized by the temple trustee, Shri Muthu. Rajamani Deekshithar.
She is currently conducting classes for both vocal and violin. As she further explores in music, Lishani has composed a melody for ‘Durga Asthakam’ singles, which will be launched soon.
